This casement or tunnel was actually built by the British as a milltary defence system against the Japanese. In general, to protect the British forts. There is no cleaning in the tunnel itself and the stuff in it are supposed to be original. Thus, there are many cracks in the ceiling and the walls look super old. One door even has several wholes, resulting from the gunshots in the past. Look above.. Not to say, everything in the tunnel seems dark and spider cobwebs is a common thing. There are too some unidentifiable stuff left after the evacuation of the tunnel as shown. Also, did not imagine that Straits Time and Sunday Times even existed way before WWII! And yes, I've experienced something new today. :) Thankfully, the casement is fully air-conditioned. If not I will surely melt under the scorching hot sun, especially after the nature trail!
