Remember the saga between the two brothers on Sunday Times about 2 months back? Yep, I've finally tasted the younger bro's tau huay man, after such a long long time. To think that my house is just so near to the both famous tau huay shop. Haha, anyway, yesterday I took the trouble to go there after my gym session for the tau hauy. Since everyone has been saying how good it is, surely I need to go and try as well...
Before I stepped into any of the shop, I stood there for a few sec. You would have realised that the Original Beancurd Shop has a lot of customers compared to Beancurd City. It is not that Beancurd City do not have many customers - it do have it's fair share of customers, just that the number fails in comparison to those in Original Beancurd Shop. I bought one box of tau huay home. Takeaway@ $1 since the plastic bowl is provided and the portion is more, and if you eat there, it will be @60cents. Guess wat, from the surface, the tau huay looks so smooth and silky! Simply irresistable! The first big spoonful of the tau huay simply melts in my mouth! Yes, I am not exaggerating.. It really does! All along, I've always thought that no other tau hau shop can beat Original Rochor Beancurd. But after tasting Beancurd City, I guess the older brother may jolly well feel the intense competition that he is currently or soon to be facing. Indeed, the tau huay from Beancurd City really tastes better then the Original Rochor Beancurd! Looking forward to try the chin chow and other goodies as well. Cheerios. :)
