Attended my colleague's wedding at Peony-Jade Restuarant(Along Clarke Quay ) yesterday evening. It was my first time attending a colleague's/friend's wedding. The feeling is rather different cos normally if I attend my relatives wedding, I din have to worry things like ang pows or whether my relatives would be posing me the usual questions everytime we meet.
2 tables were reserved for GE staff. I, together with 2 other colleagues sat together. The rest were all managerial level sharing the table with us.. Managed to only take like 1 pic with them. My face looked damn round especially beside my 2 super slim colleagues...Pity we din take the other table, cos they brought cameras! Seemed more fun...Anyway, my pox are like still very obvious even though I attempted to cover with lotssa makeup.. Hai~ When will this be over????
First impression of the restuarant, it gives a classy, cozy, yet traditional feel. Apparently this restuarant has won several awards in their culinary skills. As I am still recovering from my chicken pox(though no longer contagious), I still have to keep a strict diet. So of course there are many many delicious things a I can't eat! First dish was lobster's salad, and I can only eat the fruits lor. One of my collegues gotten me 8 grapes at the side of the lobster's salad and ask me to eat sparingly. Maybe like 1 grape per dish served so that I will at least have something to eat when everyone is savouring their food. Gone is the shark's fin, prawns, chicken and all. I only ate the fish, some celery and 2 spoons of mango sago (cant finish the whole bowl as mangoes are meant to be heaty types of fruit)
During the dinner, there is this liveband going on, and they kept playing and singing songs which we thought do not really match the whole wedding ambience.. haha so funny. Songs ranges from "The Bund" to English Jazz.. to even songs where you can actually dance your Tango and Cha-Cha...
Was looking forward to the activities organised for the newly weds. But, quite disappointing leh, not to what the crowd has expected.
The photos that the couple took by Sophia's Collection was very impressive! Every photo looks so damn nice! Like those you find in magazines or on TV serials. There is one particular shot we thought they were shooting "In The Mood For Love" by Tony Leung and Maggie Zhang. Apparently, the guy proposed to the gal in China when they are holidaying. The scene was actually taped, and there was like Take1, Take 2, Take 3. So super sweet!!! By the way, they are actually primary school mates, but lost contact till like more then 10 years later or so where they had their first primary school gathering, where they met up and got together as a couple... Wah seh, I honestly thought that this type of scene will only happen in TV shows or movies lor, really fate man!
Best Wishes to Mr and Mrs Philip Ong!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
